Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join our busy long-standing Prosthodontic specialty practice (1 day/week). As an Oral Surgeon, you will work closely with our team of dental professionals to provide exceptional care to our patients.
Duties:
- Treat conditions, defects, injuries, and esthetic aspects of the mouth, teeth, jaws, and face that require oral surgical intervention and expertise.
- Examine patients to determine the nature of the oral health condition, utilizing x-rays, dental examination and other diagnostic procedures.
- Perform oral surgical procedures including (but not limited to) simple/complicated dental extractions, extraction of impacted/wisdom teeth, dental implant placement, bone grafting, sinus lifts, alveoplasty, management of oral surgical complications or dental implant complications, etc.
- Administer local anesthesia.
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients following oral surgery.
- Attend to and address oral surgical emergencies if any and as needed at the practice.
- Provide post-operative check and support to oral surgery patients as needed.
- Collaborate with dentists/dental specialists/dental team at the practice in providing timely and the best possible dental care to our patients
- Adhere to safety protocols and processes including but not limited to ensuring protective equipment is utilized and OSHA/Bloodborne pathogen requirements are followed.
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental program
- Completion of an accredited (4-year or 6-year) Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery specialty program.
- Ontario OMFS dental specialty license that is valid and in good standing.
- Valid and current Ontario certification in CBCT
- Ability to interpret CBCTs.
- Valid and current license to provide oral conscious sedation in Ontario.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate.
