Speaker Biographies:
Dr. David Chvartszaid
David Chvartszaid is a Prosthodontist and a Periodontist. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto. He is the director of the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of Toronto, the dentist-in-chief at Baycrest Hospital, and the president of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada. He maintains a referral-based specialty practice in Toronto.
Dr. Jonathan Madras
Dr. Madras obtained his certificate in endodontics at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, and his Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, in 2010. Prior to that, he spent a year in Toronto as a general practice resident at Mount Sinai Hospital. He received his DDS degree in 2007 from the University of Western Ontario, and his BSc from Queen’s University in 2002. Dr. Madras teaches and lectures extensively in the endodontic field. He has spoken at the annual conference for the American Association of Endodontists, and is a part-time clinical instructor for undergraduate dental students at the University of Toronto. He is a past president of the George Hare Endodontic Study Club. In December of 2012, he proudly became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Madras is currently in private practice in North York, ON.
Dr. Geoffrey Duviner
Dr. Duviner obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto in 2002, graduating with distinction. He then earned his Masters in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa in 2005. Following this, he completed his dental education, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Magna Cum Laude, from the University at Buffalo in 2009.
In June 2013, he completed a 4 year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. Montefiore is the largest Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program in the United States. His surgical training at Montefiore has prepared him to perform the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Duviner is licensed as a specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. In addition to private practice, Dr. Duviner is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto. He is a staff oral & maxillofacial surgeon at Mt. Sinai Hospital and North York General Hospital, and holds courtesy privileges at Baycrest and Trillium Health Partners. Dr. Duviner is also an active member of several professional organizations.
Dr. Tracey Hendler
Tracey Hendler’s passion for dentistry started at age 3. She attended the University of Western Ontario for her undergraduate degree where she received the Chancellor's Award for the Faculty of Social Science. Tracey graduated at the top of her dental school class at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. She decided to pursue orthodontics as she loves creating beautiful smiles and impacting her patients’ self confidence. She obtained her Certificate in Orthodontics from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine where she concurrently obtained her Masters of Science in Dentistry. She is dual board certified in both the United States and Canada as an orthodontist. Tracey returned to her hometown of Toronto to work at Forest Hill Orthodontics, the practice where she was an orthodontic patient at the age of 12. She is involved in many local and international societies, including Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and Women in Dentistry where she leads the mentorship program. She has lectured both locally and internationally on orthodontics and thoroughly enjoyed her time teaching orthodontics at the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, being active, and spending time with her husband Jon, and young daughters.
Dr. Jill Levine
Dr. Jill Levine received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto in 2006 and then went on to complete her Masters of Science with advanced specialty training in Periodontology at the University of Toronto in 2009. She is a certified specialist in periodontics and fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Dr. Levine is a member of the executive of the North Toronto Dental Society and maintains a private practice in the North Toronto area.
